Transition to her big girl bed...

So over the holidays we got her new room all set-up and it looks great. Scot painted the walls and they are a really cute bright green that matches her bedding. We got her a new white daybed and its perfect! So we got her room all set-up, minus the stickers for above her bed and a armoire to match the white but set-up enough for her to use it. We started taking naps in it two days ago and it went much better than I expected. She tried to climb out twice, got stuck once and that was the end of it. She fussed a bit but then went on to sleep. That night I was expecting a bit of a battle but she did great, no fussing and went straight to sleep!! Since then we have had NO trouble, nothing but good sleep.

I am so glad that I made the transition now rather than waiting until later b/c I think it would have only gotten harder the older she got!!

Here are a few pictures of her sleeping in her big girl bed:

18 Week Appointment

Hooray for another uneventful appointment. I have gained 5 pounds, WHAT?? How did that happen? So that was a bit shocking but I am going to blame it on the holidays, who doesn't gain weight during the holidays? We heard the heartbeat and it sounded great, he was able to find it right away and it was really strong. He measured my belly although I never really know what that is for and he never mentions it so I don't worry about it!

I talked to him about tieing my tubes while he does the csection, and yes I am sure I want to do that. He gave me a few reasons, all non-medical as to why I should not do it. He even compared a woman's body to a hot rod, he said that he had one and he never drove it fast but he knew it could go fast. So basically even though I never want to use the baby-making parts its somehow going to make me feel better to know that I can?? Anyway, I told him that I have always only wanted two children, I have to healthy girls so what else can I ask for. I also shared that because of Ali's issues with blood clots and birth control I did not want to go that route again. He said that he understood and he would do it but under protest. Scot, being the smartie that he is, asked him if he was going to march, which got a laugh but he said that he would just under protest.

I asked about taking off work, he said that I could take off whenever I could afford not to get paid. I told him that I disability coverage that I wanted to take advantage of and basically he told me that unless we had a good medical reason that he did want to take me off work. So as for now I have to work up until two weeks before the baby is born and that sucks. I was really hoping to get some time off to spend with Kennedy Jane and NOT work before Kallie comes along. But oh well!

Everything is great, we go back again in 4 weeks!

Christmas Day 2008

What a great day! Last night Scot and I were up until about 9:30 putting stuff together and getting it set out. She was so excited this morning, she came running into the den to check it all out. We got lots of cute pictures of everything. I think she liked the Clippo and the Pony the most but she loved the airplane when we got it outside. She has already broken into the crayons and I am sure the new bath toys will be a hit tonight when she gets in!
Lunch was amazing! The boys fried a turkey and it was SO SO good. Mom and I cooked Mac & Cheese, Brocolli and Cheese Casserole, Sweet Potatoe Casserole, Dressing and Lima Beans and Cheryl (mom's neighbor) joined us and made Green Bean Casserole. We had more food than we could have dreamed of eating so we will have more tonight and probably for lunch tomorrow.

I must say that this year was a lot more fun than last year with Kennedy Jane b/c she really got it this year, or at least more so than last year. I think next year will be even better b/c she will really understand.

Its also hard to believe that next year we will have two little girls that we are celebrating with!

Here are some pictures of our day:

Its a GIRL!!

We found out today that we are having another beautiful baby girl! We had our 17 week ultrasound today and she looks great. They measured her head, could see her heart and it was beating at 160 which if I remember right is just about what Kennedy Jane's was. They saw her kidneys, spine and arms and legs and everything looked great. She was moving a good bit and then we got the goods shot, and there is no doubt its another girl. I think Scot is a bit disappointed b/c he really wanted a boy but I think once he gets used to it he will love having two daddy's girls! We go back and see Dr. Madonia next Tues for our regular check-up.

Her name is going to be Kallie Suzanne, or if I get to spell it Kali Suzanne. Its after my sister, Ali, her name is Alison Suzanne. And my grandmother, Nonnie, that died right after Kennedy Jane was born used to try to call one of us and get us mixed up and call us Ka-Ali so that's where I got Kallie and I love it!!

I am really excited for Kennedy Jane to have a sister, I am so close to my sister that I really wanted that for Kennedy Jane and Kallie both!! Here are some pictures of her:

16 Weeks

I am 16 weeks pregnant as of yesterday. Things seem to be getting a lot better, I feel good most of the time. I am still tired a lot and things wear me out but overall I feel good. The round ligament pain has started and that can be really painful! We go a week from today at 8:30am to find out the gender of the baby and also to see the baby again on ultrasound. I am really excited about finding out but more ready to see the baby again and just get confirmation that everything is ok. I always feel better when I can actually see the baby and know that everything is ok.

Christmas Card

Well I am a slacker, usually I do a card with Handsome in it and come up with something really cute. I had a great idea this year but just couldn't manage to make the time to take the pictures that I needed so I decided to just make my own with Kennedy Jane. I think it turned out really cute and maybe next year I will start doing the creative ones again!

Christmas Pictures!

We took some great Christmas pictures although getting a good picture of her is getting more and more difficult. She just doesn't want to sit still or do what we ask her to do! They turned out good despite her best efforts at the contrary!

Deck the Halls!

Well we went to get our Christmas tree last weekend and it was quite an adventure. While we were there one of the employees stole my cell phone. I knew someone had taken it b/c I knew exactly where I left it. We looked around for it and the owner's son said that he did see it. So we started calling it and eventually found where he had hidden in a barn used to flock trees. It was a bit upsetting but I was glad to have it back.

We came home and Kennedy Jane helped us decorate the tree. She really enjoyed it, wanted to help put the ornaments on the tree and just like last year put the star on top of the tree with Daddy's help.

Here are some pictures of her decorating the tree and then in her santa outfit with the tree:

14 Week Appointment

Yet another uneventful appointment, and those are always the best kind. I have gained 2lbs since my last appt which is not bad at all considering how much I ate on vacation!! My blood pressure was normal, he measured my belly and I assume it was normal b/c he didn't mention it. He was able to find the heartbeat quickly and it sounded really strong! He ordered a CBC b/c of the dizziness episodes and I guess we will discuss that at my next appointment.

We scheduled the big ultrasound for December 22nd, 2008 at 8:30am! I am so so excited, the whole family will go again and it will be a lot of fun. And then I go back to see him on Dec 30th and I will be 18 weeks. So far everything is going great!

Thanksgiving in St John

We had a BLAST!! We had to get up at 4am to catch our 6am flight out of New Orleans. It wasn't too bad until I felt like I was going to pass out waiting to get through security and had that feeling several times more before we finally got to our gate and were able to sit down. Our hopes of Kennedy Jane staying asleep were quickly dashed before we ever got out of the hotel. Our flights were easy and we made it to St Thomas. There we had to hop a cab to the ferry dock and take a ferry to St John. Everything had gone smoothly until we got to St John to pick-up our rental car and they had already left for the day. It took us 45min to get that situation resolved and get in our rental car headed for the villa.

After traveling some pretty crazy roads we finally got to our villa which was beautiful, except the a/c throughout was not so, it was all screened windows and open doors with a small wall a/c unit in the rooms. We were all a bit worried that we were going to be hot but it ended up being just fine, just a bit sticky from the humidity. Here is a picture of the villa from the deck of the pool:

The stay on St John was great, Sunday we went to Jost Van Dyke, a British VI and it was beautiful.

Here is a pic of the beach on Jost Van Dyke:

Tuesday we went to St Thomas to shop to discover and island wide power outage. Mom, Ali, Kennedy Jane and I checked into the Westin b/c they were running on generators, however, at dinner their generators over-loaded and power went out. They got it restored only to have it go out around 1am and stay off for about 3 hrs.

Here is a pic of Kennedy Jane playing out by the pool at the Westin:

The rest of the trip went great and we were NOT ready to come home!!
